A cofferdam is a structure that retains water and soil that allows the enclosed area to be pumped out and excavated dry. Cofferdams are commonly used for construction of bridge piers and other support structures built within water. Cofferdams walls are usually formed from sheet piles that are supported by wales and internal braces, and cross braces. Cofferdams are typically dismantled after permanent works are completed. Underwater welding is an important tool for underwater fabrication works. Wet underwater welding & cutting is performed in water. The process is generally limited to low carbon. steels, especially because of rapid cooling rate and hydrogen pick up resulting in weld cracking. Underwater welding is achieved by reversing the polarity of a DC welder, while the diver uses an underwater hand piece and welding rods. Underwater cutting systems such as Broco provide a fast, efficient and cost- effective means of completing underwater cutting, piercing and gouging. Equipment includes a torch, regulator, knife switch and the cutting rods which produce a temperature hot enough to quickly cut or melt through cast iron, stainless steel, brass and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Before the construction of any marine structure underwater survey will be carried out like bathymetric survey, sub bottom survey and visual inspections. We will provide required range of video and photography footage and diving assistant to performed bathymetric survey where boat cannot reach.
